Administrative contributions

The administrative contribution applies to batteries heavier than 25 kg and lead-acid batteries heavier than 5 kg. This contribution serves to fulfil the administrative obligations of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for you.

Attention

For large batteries > 25 kg (with the exception of ESS modules in an installation > 16 MWh), Bebat is considering the introduction of an environmental contribution, in order to establish a collective system for fulfilling the EPR (including the guarantee scheme).

The administrative contribution remains applicable to lead batteries > 5 kg.

For ESS modules from an installation > 16 MWh, you must contact the regions to submit an individual plan and the corresponding guarantee.

Below are the current administrative contribution rates, categorised by battery type. Note: in some cases, you do not have to pay an administrative contribution, but you do have to pay an environmental contribution.

What is included in the administrative contribution?

The administrative contribution only covers the costs for:

Registration with and reporting to the three regional governments
Prevention, building awareness, and communication

Not included:

Costs for the financial guarantee
Costs for collection, pickup, sorting, processing, recycling, reusing, or repurposing

Why not?

Because no one uniform price is possible in this case, as the price depends on the battery’s weight, chemical composition, condition, the necessary packaging, and the service requested.
