Your invoices and contributions

As a Bebat participant, you pay contributions to comply with the legal Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). In some cases, you must also mention these contributions on your invoices, depending on the type of contribution and your customer.

Environmental contribution

Belgian professional customers

As a Bebat participant, you are legally required to mention the environmental contribution on your sales invoices and credit notes to Belgian professional customers. This contribution should only be mentioned on documents for batteries that enter the Belgian market. On sales invoices, the environmental contributions must be included in the amount stated.

Foreign professional customers

For sales to foreign companies, there is no obligation to mention the environmental contribution on invoices and credit notes: they do not pay the Bebat contribution and therefore should not receive any invoices or credit notes that mention it.

Consumers

On invoices or receipts for consumers, you have the free choice to visibly display the environmental contribution on the invoice. It shows consumers that you comply with your EPR obligations for batteries.

Administrative contribution

You do not need to mention the administrative contribution on the invoice to the customer. This contribution is an internal cost that you, as a participant in Bebat, pay and that is not intended to be passed on or specified on invoices to your customers, whether they are consumers or professionals.

Attention

The costs for the financial guarantee, collection, pickup, sorting, processing, and recycling, reuse, or repurposing are not included in the administrative contribution. You will need to finance these yourself.
