In 2019, Belgians collected more spent batteries than ever before. With more than 3624 ton collected - good for about 152 million batteries - 2019 was a year of records.
No less than 3,208 tonnes of collected batteries in 2018! That's 5%, or 141 tonnes, more than the year before. The collection rate rose to 61.6% in 2018 (compared to 60.6% in 2017).
This annual report demonstrates that all Belgians - consumers, participants and collection points – achieve excellent results in terms of battery collection and recycling. In 2016, 3,067 tons of batteries were collected, a result that consolidates our position as one of the world leaders.
